The original creators of the Senior Info Site planned on being the ultimate resource guide for all senior related living alternatives, healthcare, products, services, religion, travel, recreation and much more to help you make the most of your senior years. At some point ithe site's domain expired and senior-infosite.com disappeared.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN ARCHIVED VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL SITE.
When I learned that senior-infosite.com was no more I was extremely disappointed. Imagine my surprise when I recently discovered that the site's domain was available. I decided to buy it with the goal of recreating as much of its original content as possible from its archived pages. I felt the the senior discussion page certainly hit home. Hopefully reviving this site will inspire someone, who is not only more capable than I, but also has the time and passion to use the philosophy of this site and create a vibrant new website with similar goals.
Every family at some point is faced with addressing the needs of their most senior members. My uncle recently had to move from his long standing home to a smaller, more manageable space. He wanted to remain in New Orleans, where as a recognized Louisiana maritime attorney he still consults with a maritime partnership in town - view his site. He is an expert in maritime law, especially the Jones Act, which is a skill set much in demand in this port city. But he loves the New Orleans food, night life, atmosphere, ambiance, and his neighbors. So moving was uprooting a bit, but fortunately he remains in the same neighborhood, so his neighbors are the same. Reading this website gave us plenty of insight as to what to consider when responsible for an older adult. The circumstances, needs, and forward thinking advice offered by this site will be missed and we hope keeping some of the information live for a while will be useful. Which brings me back to my point, that I hope some other young or not so young enterprising person is inspired by the goals of the founders of Senior-InfoSite.com.

The FDA has warned that recipients of an IVC filter could suffer from a number of serious side effects such as:
- IVC filter migration
- IVC filter fracture

Prescription problems - CM 1/16/03

I am writting this letter because I had applied for Medbank for my Mother and at the time she had Some prescriptions Since that time she has been in the Hospital and has started Dialysis which has changed all the prescription that I had put in the application could someone please call me and let me know how i can change them and to see if she has been approved
I would greatly appreciate anyone’s HELP!

I am 69 years old and am trying to fill the void of not having gradchildren ( mother of three girls). I have been married 50 years with a non communiting husband and am trying so hard to fill and find meaning in my life I have a part-time job and many friends, but the thought of having nothing to leave behind to anyone haunts me. Please forgive the delay in my reply, I was away first and then became ill for a while.
I felt your sadness in your e-mail. There are numerous organizations, charities, cultural and religious associations that would probably love to have you connect with them. If you want real meaning in your life and have no grandchildren, work with ill children and their families, like the Ronald McDonald House. If not there, there are numerous volunteer positions with healthy and disabled children, with adults at hospitals, with hospices all which would love to have someone help with their patients as a volunteer.

My husband died in 1992 at the age of 55. I did not find out if I could have recieved any ss benefits through him. I was 50 at that time. I am now married and have been since 1999 and just want to know information on whether or not I was or am now intitiled to any of his ss money? I had an understanding from some place that I couldn't apply until I was 62. Also, didn't know about what happens because I'm remarried.

My name is Lucy Newman. There is a wonderful senior in our neighborhood and she is having a problem. For the last two weeks she has been receiving harassing telephone calls from an anonymous individual. The calls are very crude and common. She is very upset by these incidents. She has saved the messages on the answering machine but she is now afraid to answer her phone. The telephone company suggested that she utilize *59. She stated that this called the individual back. It is unfortunate that Verizon did not take this call seriously. How can I help my neighbor?

Financial Assistence for Assisted Living - Pat Stamato 1/06/00

My mother suffered a stoke a year ago which left her unable to communicate or takcare of herself. Since she was still able to walk we were lucky enough to place her in assisted living. Her monthly income is $1,200 a month and of course the assisted living is approximately $3000 a month. We make up the shortfall by using her limited savings and figure her assets will be used up in three years. At that time the State would have to take over. My understanding is the State would put her in a nursing home costing almost $9000 a month instead of leaving her in assisted living. Are there any alternatives or new laws that will help.
